Job Title: Virtual Instructor

Armenian Virtual College is recruiting instructors to be online facilitators for distance learning courses in Armenian History, Armenian Language, and Armenian Culture. The Armenian Virtual College builds on the infrastructure and credibility of AGBU and uses the capacity of digital media to promote knowledge and appreciation of Armenian history, language and culture to Armenian youth and adults in the Diaspora and Armenia.

Job Description:

Virtual instructors, or e-tutors, support students who are enrolled in courses through the Armenian Virtual College (AVC). As a virtual instructor you would:

• contact new students to help build their confidence and understanding of the course
• help students to develop their study skills
• act as a point of contact for students' queries
• give support by telephone and email
• help students to set up discussion forums and chat rooms
• take part in audio and video conferencing
• conduct 'virtual classrooms' (classes conducted through web technology)
• assess students' work and give feedback

Requirements:

• Subject matter expertise in Armenian History, Armenian Language, or Armenian Culture
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, training or area of subject matter expertise
• Teaching, training, or tutoring experience with high school students, young adults, and/or adults
