THE FIRST INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA E-GUIDE “FROM KUMAYRI TO GYUMRI” WAS LAUNCHED

On December 15, 2021, AVC launched the fifth e-book in its multimedia e-series. The interactive multimedia e-guide “From Kumayri to Gyumri” introduces the historic and cultural landmarks of Gyumri in a multimedia offering and features interactive 3D and VR maps with nearby resource searching, rich visual content, and multilingual audio-listening options for individuals exploring Gyumri virtually and for the city visitors. The virtual launch hosted over 80 guests from the local and international communities.


GROWING COLLABORATION WITH HYBRID SCHOOLS WORLDWIDE

AVC continued to offer online courses and organize educational activities and online social events for hybrid schools, aiming to enhance students’ learning experience. Besides the AVC hybrid program’s main offerings and the benefit of social meetups, AVC also offers pedagogically sound and up-to-date teacher resources.


AVC ARMENIAN LANGUAGE COURSE NOW IN AN APP

The AVC Armenian Language course is now available as an app for both iOS and Android. The lessons for four proficiency levels (A1, A2, B1, and B2) are already available for e-learners, and the AVC team is currently working on the implementation of the two advanced levels C1 and C2, both in desktop and mobile formats.





AVC AND MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, SCIENCE, CULTURE AND SPORT LAUNCHED A SERIES OF EDUCATIONAL WEBINARS

AGBU Armenian Virtual College (AVC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia started a webinar series on AVC’s Pan-Armenian Educational Forum platform (PAEF).  

The series aims at presenting contemporary topics and global trends in pedagogy and education and is designed for those who want to expand and strengthen their professional knowledge. 


ARMENIAN VIRTUAL BRIDGE ACCELERATOR PROGRAM CONDUCTS A SYNC-UP SESSION

The Accelerator program of the Armenian Virtual Bridge (AVB) conducted a hybrid sync-up session held at Yerevan State University, on November 22, 2021. The program was offered last Fall by AGBU - Silicon Valley and RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry, and made possible by AGBU Armenian Virtual College (AVC).


ARMENIAN LANGUAGE AND HISTORY AS A NEW RESEARCH TOPIC FOR THE YOUNG PROFESSIONAL

Ricardo Torres, a young professional and researcher from Rosario, Argentina with no Armenian roots, is studying Armenian studies and has a far-reaching vision in the field. 

“I am of Spanish and Italian descent, yes, but I was very interested in Armenian, so my Ph.D. supervisor recommended me AVC courses.”


A WONDERFUL TREASURE OF HUMANITY

AVC student Mariano Ignacio from Argentina shares his experience of learning the Armenian language, which he describes as a “wonderful treasure of humanity”. Besides giving an easy-access opportunity to learn the language, Ignacio points out Armenian Virtual College’s impressive teaching methodology that offers time-flexibility encouraging its students to learn at their own pace and take the required time to let the new words, dialogs, and expressions sink in.


INTERACTIVE COURSES ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

On March 24, 2020, AGBU AVC Founding President, Dr. Yervant Zorian, met with the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, along with the President of the Union of ICT Employers (UEICT), Armen Baldryan, the UEICT Executive Director, Eduard Musayelyan, and Director of the Synopsys Armenia Educational Department, Prof. Vazgen Melikyan.


ARTSAKH STATE MINISTER MEETS WITH AGBU AVC TO ESTABLISH VIRTUAL EDUCATION

The State Minister of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan, and his principal Advisor David Akopyan, met with AGBU AVC Founding President, Dr. Yervant Zorian, and several other representatives of the AGBU Armenian Virtual College in Silicon Valley, on Nov. 1, 2021. The meeting, held at the St Andrew Armenian church hall in Cupertino, was dedicated to exchange views on the present and, more importantly, the future of education in Artsakh.


DR. ZORIAN VISITS CATHOLICOS ARAM I

On March 20, 2022, AGBU AVC Founding President, Dr. Yervant Zorian, visited His Holiness Aram I, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia.

Shahan Kandaharian, a member of the "Year of the Diaspora" coordination committee and Editor-in-Chief of Aztag Daily, was also present at the meeting. Catholicos Aram I proclaimed 2022 as the “Year of the Diaspora” in his annual New Year address.


AVC PARTNER RECOGNIZED WITH AWARD FOR JOINT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

AVC alumnus Michael Cunningham, Director of the Global Scholars Diploma Program of the World Affairs Council of Austin, received the Armenian Genocide Education Award from the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region’s Education Committee for the “International Education and Genocide Awareness” program, initiated in partnership with the AGBU Armenian Virtual College.


AVC HYBRID SCHOOLS CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY 2022

In celebration of International Mother Language Day, AVC brought together hybrid schools from across the world in a video recital of the “Ode to the Armenian Language” by Vahan Tekeyan.  Students and teachers from the USA, Canada, Lebanon, Greece, Syria, Kuwait, Russia and Armenia contributed their talent and effort to this project.

Another video featured drawings of hybrid students from Russia, Switzerland, the USA, Canada and Australia inspired by Tekeyan's poem.


INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP BRINGS AVC COURSES TO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN ARGENTINA

About 30 students of the Faculty or Arts and Culture at the National University of Rosario, Argentina, (UNR) completed the 2021 cycle of the AVC Armenian Language course. Close to the end of their studies, the AVC online instructor Gohar Gevorgyan took them on a virtual tour to the History Museum of Armenia. “So glad we were able to travel together, even if it was virtually”, said one of the students during the event.


ONLINE AWARD CEREMONY FOR AVC HYBRID STUDENTS FROM SFedU

The first group of students from the Southern Federal University in Rostov-on-Don successfully completed the first level of the AVC Armenian Language course and received certificates.

AVC Education Team manager Marine Khachaturyan and online instructor Gohar Gevorgyan hosted the online awards ceremony and presented digital certificates to the ten SFedU students.
