AGBU Armenian Virtual College (AVC) is dedicated to promoting and preserving Armenian culture and heritage by organizing various social events and virtual tours and constantly working on improving and enriching the educational content with specially-made animations, visual exercises, multimedia resources, etc. AGBU AVC social events are aimed at educating and connecting e-learners from different parts of the world.
Each year, more and more new schools around the globe benefit from the AVC Hybrid Education program available in 7 languages.
On February 20, AGBU AVC hosted an online social event for the students of the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School and Holy Cross Harboyan High School in Beirut, Lebanon. The event was organized to celebrate Book Giving Day, which coincides with the birthday anniversary of renowned Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan. The students took part in a virtual tour of the Hovhannes Tumanyan House Museum in Yerevan and Dsegh, accompanied by the AVC Western Armenian Affairs Coordinator Zepur Kheblikian.
Another example of AVC's dedication to promoting Armenian culture is the online social events dedicated to the Feast of St. Sarkis and Tyarendarach. These events are organized to celebrate Armenian traditions and customs, strengthening the ties that bind the Armenian community together.
Previously, students from R.D. White Elementary School of Glendale and the Sunday School adjacent to the St. Hovhannes Mkrtich church of the Armenian Apostolic Church’s Krasnodar and North Caucasus Diocese in Maykop, Russia, were taken on a fun virtual bus tour around Yerevan by the AVC online instructors.
The virtual tours provide a unique opportunity for students to explore museums, historical sites, and other places of cultural significance, enabling them to connect with their heritage in a meaningful way.
AVC's commitment to promoting and preserving Armenian culture and heritage shows through its various social events and virtual tours which provide a unique opportunity for students to learn about Armenian culture and history, fostering a deeper appreciation for their heritage.
