Eurnekian School Students Celebrate Successful Graduation from AGBU AVC AI Course
05/26/2024
This May, the first class of 18 high school students from the Eurnekian School of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, who had joined the AGBU AVC Artificial Intelligence program, successfully completed the first part of the course.
The partnership was initiated after a meeting between AGBU AVC Founding President Dr. Yervant Zorian and His Holiness Karekin II. The collaboration launched at the end of 2023 after another meeting at the AGBU AVC office between the AVC staff and the representatives of the Eurnekian school.
During the 2023-2024 academic year, the learners studied the basics of AI and Machine Learning with interactive multimedia lessons moderated by the AGBU AVC AI expert Mher Yerznkanyan and supported by the Eurnekian school’s in-class teacher. At the end of the academic year, the students presented their final projects at an event attended by the school principal, teachers and AGBU AVC staff.
The aim of the AI program is to equip high school students with the essential knowledge and skills to understand the fundamental concepts of AI and its real-world applications. It is a doorway for interested youth to pursue further studies in the field of AI and be prepared for future job opportunities.
The AGBU AVC AI course is offered in a hybrid mode, which combines the benefits of online learning with traditional classroom education, as well as weekly visits by AGBU AVC AI expert to the school to conduct offline lessons. The curriculum is designed to foster hands-on learning through engaging projects and group activities.
The program is a joint effort by AGBU Silicon Valley, the Armenian "Union of Information and Communication Technologies Employers'' (UEICT), Synopsys Foundation, Synopsys Armenia (Educational Department), and AGBU AVC.
